How to Get the Most from Your Conference Experience

Whether this is your first time at the ICT Conference on Professional Development or you were with us at least year’s inaugural event, we offer the following tips for maximizing the benefits you will derive from attendance.

Take advantage of the links we can offer to make your transportation and travel experiences better.

  • Don’t forget to dress in light layers; the temperature of meeting rooms in hotels can be unpredictable, and we want you to be comfortable as you learn.
  • Bring lots of business cards so that you can interact with your peers and speakers during the many networking opportunities the ICT Conference offers
  • Bring a camera and take copious notes. You can document and share your experience in your facility’s infection control newsletter.
  • Bring some notes on the problems and situations you are experiencing currently in your infection control program so that you can share them during the Gripe Night session. After all, it’s the session where you can come with problems and leave with solutions!
  • Be ready to either find someone you can mentor, or find a mentor for yourself during the three days of the conference. Developing a conference buddy is a nice way to share the experience and learn from each other. You’ll also have a professional friendship that you can lean on throughout the year.
