Luncheon Keynote Address: This Won't Hurt A Bit! (And Other Fractured Truths in Healthcare)
By Karyn Buxman, RN, MSN, CSP, CPAE
Healthcare is full of fractured truths! And while the state of healthcare is no joke, it can be a laughing matter. Unfortunately, healthcare professionals from coast to coast lament, "There's nothing funny happening where I work," or "Our boss thinks humor is unprofessional," or "I've lost my laugh." Nurse humorist Karyn Buxman is here to remind us "what's so funny" and how it can help us-even when it's sick humor! Don't miss this session where she will help us rediscover where our humor resources are and what to do even when there's nothing funny going on. |

Lunch and Issues in Infection Control Lecture Series: Respiratory Fit-Testing and Occupational
Health
Sponsored by

This four-hour seminar provides a practical overview of respiratory protection specific to hospital applications. Particular emphasis will be placed on Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPRs) and alternatives to fit testing. Little or no prior formal training is required. Other topics to be discussed include: standards, types, use, selection and limitations of respirators. Practical comparisons of several models of PAPRs will also be presented. This seminar is essential for individuals who oversee respiratory protection programs in hospitals. This is also an excellent opportunity to obtain hands-on exposure to a selection of PAPRs from multiple manufacturers in one setting.
